5 months old

We are having a lot of fun watching Nicholas grow and learn. We haven't started him on the rice cereal yet but we did take 5 month pictures, as well as pictures of him in his new bouncer. We predict that he will be crawling soon, as soon as he figures out what to do with his arms. Last week was a quiet weekend. We discovered a new mall that is quite large out by the airport. Sunday we went to brunch a the Hyatt to celebrate our 3 year anniversary a few days late.

there we are

We always put Nicholas down to sleep on his back like we are supposed to, but now that he has figured out how to roll over he has decided he likes to sleep on his stomach, so this is how I find him in the morning. This coming from the baby who screamed bloody murder during tummy time for the first 4 months of his life.

Nicholas really enjoys playing with the toys on his new bouncer. We're just waiting for him to figure out that it bounces, too.

He's getting so tall! We can't believe he's 5 months old already!

This is a video of Nicholas's first attempts at crawling. We think he'll get it soon.

We wish we could always follow the rule "never wake a sleeping baby", but Monday through Friday, work calls. Nicholas has been sleeping through the night until sometime between 4 and 6, and then after his morning feeding he goes back to sleep, which is wonderful. Unfortunately we have to wake him up at 7 which is when we leave to take Christy to work. He's a good sport about it, and takes a morning nap later.

This last one is of Nicholas drinking water from a cup at brunch. David offered him part of his smoothy, and he wanted it, so we had to give him something he could actually have. He drank from a glass like a pro!

We always much preferred Trincity Mall to the others. It's too bad it's so far away!
