It seems that 2014 is flying by at the same lightening pace as 2013. We haven't been very good at documenting with photos, much less blogging about it. It's been 2 years now since we've been back in DC and we seem to be settling into a pretty steady routine. Which is not to say we haven't had fun! It's been an unusually cold winter (think "polar vortex"!) so we've been enjoying our snow days. We've been trying to get out and about, with several kids' birthday parties as well as a kids' concert at Jammin' Java over MLK weekend and most recently Disney on Ice at the Verizon Center this past weekend. David also took the kids to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaur exhibit one last time before it closes for a 5 year renovation.
Nicholas just tested for his purple-stripe belt in Tai Kwon Do and still loves school. Claire transitioned to a big girl bed with no problems and keeps us rolling in laughter with her coy facial expressions. She also had her preschool admissions "play date"--our baby is growing up! Christy took another week-long work trip, this time to Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia. David has been enjoying playing pick up football on the weekends.
We were very saddened by the loss of Christy's paternal grandfather, "Grandad", on February 1st. David and Christy traveled to Pittsburgh for the funeral services, celebrating Grandad's life with her parents, sister, aunts, uncles and cousins. The services took place at the beautiful First Presbyterian Church in downtown Pittsburgh, where Christy's parents were married and she was baptized as an infant, so it was really special.
The few pictures we did take over the past month and a half:

Our 7th Anniversary is this week and March Madness is just around the corner! As much fun as we're having being close to family and taking advantage of all DC has to offer, we have to admit that we might have been browsing the projected vacancy list for summer 2015 bidding....always looking forward to the next adventure!
