Trip to the Zoo!

Sunday was a beautiful, warm, sunny day in Washington, DC. We took advantage of the good fall weather and took a trip to the zoo. We went with our friends from Berlin: Tim and Ruth Anne and their daughter Pauline and Kelly and Stu and their daughter Layla.

this is how Nicholas spent the first hour and a half or so....

We were trying for a photo shoot with Layla and Pauline but Nicholas was pretty fussy. The girls were wondering what was up with the crying baby.

All was not lost, though. Nicholas finally calmed down and drank his bottle, then decided it was pretty cool to hang out with Daddy at the Zoo. Here we are with the lions.

Daddy's giving me bunny ears!

Nicholas likes looking over Daddy's shoulder where he can see everything.

Layla and Pauline getting aquainted.

We saw a gorilla

And the giant panda was out!
Nicholas is doing really well-- we had our 8 week check up on Friday. He is in the 90th percentile for height, 75th for weight, and 50th for head size. He weighs a whopping 13 pounds, which means he's as big as Moe now!

At home taking a snooze while mommy packs away her maternity clothes.

Our pack out date is just around the corner so we are starting to get ready.... Moe doesn't want to get left behind!

or maybe he just likes cardboard....

awake from his nap

It's a Buckeye family!

if you leave it out, Moe will think it's a good place to lounge....

I guess watching Mommy do dishes got kind of boring.

Nicholas is smiling now! The sleeper that looked so huge when Nicholas came home from the hospital fits - our little boy is growing quickly.
This week we are looking forward to lunch with the Pattons and then on Thursday we head to Ohio, just for the weekend this time.
